I have some wonderful friends. When we moved to this area, my biggest sorrow was leaving friends behind. Of course, dear friends are never left behind. Soon after we arrived, I met two ladies after church service one Sunday. They were planning their mutual January birthday celebration. Brazenly, I exclaimed that I, too, was a January birthday girl. What could they do but graciously invite me along? That was over twenty years ago. Since that long-ago birthday, we've celebrated joys, concerns, holidays, graduations, weddings and the pleasure of being together.
Yesterday, we shared...
"The Music Man"
We chose a movie that was fun, uplifting and that didn't require silence from the "audience".
We started with a light lunch of salad, soup and a small dessert, saving room for the "trip to the snack bar". Then we settled in before the fire for the movie, munching and singing along with the many familiar tunes. It was such a fine day with more sweet memories to store away.
